Week of 8/24 - 8/28

Monday
  • Magazine Project will be introduced to the students and we will discuss all components of the Project.  Students will get time to choose how to divide the responsibilities.  The right column will provide additional information for the project.

Week of 8/17 - 8/21

Monday

Tuesday
  • Complete the lecture if needed and Students will work on Study guide Sections 3 & 4
  • HomeworkComplete Study Guide Chapter 1-3 & 4.

Wednesday
  • Check Lab.  Students will play the role of Forenic Scientist  and learn to form hypothesis.
  • HomeworkComplete
Thursday
  • Students will continue with the Check Lab and draw their final hypothesis. Students will turn in the Lab at the end of the period.
  • Homework: Complete    

Friday
  • Quiz Chapter 1.
  • Homework: Vocabulary and Key Concepts for chapter 2 page 56.  Students are to do this assignment in Cornell Note format.  They will copy the 14 key concepts on the right side of the page and write a question for each key concept on the left side of the page.  They will then define the 41 vocabulary words.  They will write the vocabulary word on the left side of the page and the definition on the right side of the page.  Students should number the key concepts 1 - 14 and the vocabulary 15 - 55.    

Week of 8/10 - 8/14

Monday
  • Welcome to Biology.  We will get our biology books today.  I will begin discussing the class rules starting with the cell phone policy.     
  • Homework: Students and Parents need to sign and return the Cell phone policy.

Tuesday
  • We will continue to discuss class rules, class expectations, grading policy, and how all student should conduct themselved in class.  Students are expected to keep a notebook of ALL their work done in this class.  Notebook requirements are outlined in the Notebook Requirement handout.
  • Homework:  Students and Parents need to sign and return the Class Procedure and grading policy.

Wednesday
  • We will discuss how students will be expected to conduct themselves during Labs and Lab safety.  Students will read and highlight important Lab safety procedures.  
  • Homework: Students and Parents need to sign and return the Lab Safety Contract.   

Thursday
  • Lecture Chapter 1-1   (Chapter 1- Section 1)
  • Homework: Vocabulary and Key Concepts for chapter 1 page 30.  Students are to do this assignment in Cornell Note format.  They will copy the 7 key concepts on the right side of the page and write a question for each key concept on the left side of the page.  They will then define the 23 vocabulary words.  They will write the vocabulary word on the left side of the page and the definition on the right side of the page.  Students should number the kep concepts 1 - 7 and the vocabulary 8 - 23.
